The Virgin Mobile Aweis a great deal for under $40. It runs Android 4.1, has a 1.2GHz processor and 1 GB of ram. The 1 GB of ram really helps this phone outperform the other low cost alternatives with only half as much ram.

After everything to purchase this phone for $5 makes it the best phone deal for Perk TV and Swagbucks TV. If you don’t already have all the phones you need for Perk TV or Swagbucks TV this is the best deal I’ve seen.

Virgin Mobile Awe – This phone runs Perk TV easily. Virgin Mobile has the Awe on sale for $40 today. If you buy any phone through Top Cashback you receive $35. (Top Cashback is giving a $10 sign up bonus too!) That means you could purchase this dual core processor smartphone for ONLY $5. This is a steal. I haven’t seen a better deal for a great smartphone.

LG Optimus Fuel – The Optimus Fuel is not as powerful as the Awe but it does a good job with Perk TV. Wal-Mart had the Fuel on sale for under $30. Through September 7th, Dollar General is selling the Fuel for $19. If you see any buy them up. That is a pretty good deal!

Kyocera Hydro – The Kyocera Hydro is a cheap phone that you can buy for next to nothing. There have been a lot of complaints of the phone “bricking” or dying. Since the phone is of poor quality you can typically find a good deal almost anywhere on a Hydro. The best deal is for a used Hydro from Boost Mobile. Boost Mobile sells them for $15 to $20 and Top Cashback will give you a $35 rebate. They are paying you $15 to $20 to take the phone. You can’t turn that deal down. However, don’t be surprised when the phone dies on you.

 

We have personally used all three of these phones with Perk TV. We much prefer the Virgin Mobile Awe over both the LG LG Optimus Fuel and Kyocera Hydro. The apps run so much quicker on the Awe. Let us know if you know of any deals!

If you shop online, I hope you use a cash back site like ebates.com or topcashback.com. These sites receive commissions for referring you to sites you probably already shop at. They then pass on most or all of the commissions they receive to you! The commission rates vary from company to company and each cash back site as well. Ebates and Top Cashback both have thousands of companies that they team up with. So, you have plenty of opportunity to earn cash back.

Here’s how it works, if you are going to buy something from Walmart.com, simply login to your Top Cashback account first. Through their site, search Walmart and click on the cash back link. The link will take you to the Walmart site where you shop just like you normally would. The only difference is after your purchaseTop Cashback will email you that a commission was generated from your purchase. Currently, the rate for Walmart.com is 4% of most purchases, some retailers commission rates are flat dollar amounts. As soon as Top Cashback receives the commission from Walmart, you can request for the money to be sent to you.

Now, which cash back site should you use?

You can trust both sites. Ebates has been around for 15 years and has a great reputation for paying out commissions. Top Cashback is a much younger company, but has done a great job in the two years we’ve been using them. Although Top Cashback hasn’t been around near as long as Ebates, we would recommend Top Cashback over Ebates. We’ve noticed Top Cashback pays a higher commission at most of the stores we shop from. Also, Top Cashback allows you to withdraw your commission as soon as they receive it. But, both are free, so sign up and you decide which one you like best.

Date Night on a Budget

I will admit, date nights for us don’t happen the typical way they may happen for others. We rarely get out of the house alone (due to having 3 kids, ages 4 and under). Getting a babysitter is not something we are willing to fork out $15/hour for. So, our options have been limited. Sometimes, we will rent a movie through redbox or watch one through Netflix after the kids go to bed, with a glass of wine. Speaking of when the kids go to bed…we make sure the kids are in bed by 8:00 every night so that we get at least an hour to spend with one another, with no kids around. Maybe we talk about our day, or maybe it’s our dreams, but we connect. Isn’t that what couples do on dates? Whenever we do get out of the house, here are the ways we do it on the cheap:

  1. Grandma watches the kiddos for FREE. We are lucky to have this luxury, but we realize some people do not have this option. Our church has lots of couples that switch date nights. They “borrow” time and “pay” it back with free sitting.
  2. We do things that are free. There are lots of websites where you can find free things to do in your area of the country.
  3. We buy deals through Groupon.com. If you go through topcashback.com, you can get an even better deal. Topcashback will reimburse you a certain percentage for your purchase. Click here to sign up, using our referral code.
  4. We purchase giftcards at a discount through Raise.com to the places/restaurants we will be going to.
  5. We try to find specific restaurant coupons online or sign up for text offers in order to get a discount on our meals.
  6. We go out to lunch, not dinner. Lots of places have lunch specials that end up costing half the price of a dinner entres.
  7. We NEVER order sodas with our meal. This doesn’t bother us because we aren’t soda drinkers anyway. Drinks are EXPENSIVE!

A lot of you are probably familiar with Swagbucks.com, or at least heard of them. We’ve used Swagbucks sparingly over the last few years. However, recently, we have heard people have been able to earn $50 or more per month doing things they already do online. That adds up when you get your entire house involved! After hearing this we started trying to maximize our earnings using Swagbucks.

Swagbucks.com is a rewards and loyalty program with many different ways to earn Swag bucks.  You can do internet searches, watch videos, take surveys, shop or watch videos on their mobile app. The Swagbucks TV app suite is where you can easily earn Swag bucks.

The most you can earn from the Swagbucks TV app is 50 Swagbucks per day or $.50, which still adds up to $15 per month. However, you can do this quickly by watching videos. Once you add videos to your favorites list, begin playing your favorites. The app will run a continuous loop, rather than you having to pick the next video you want to watch, allowing you to sit back and watch the Swag bucks add up.

After maxing out your 50 Swagbucks with the Swagbucks TV mobile app, begin using the Entertainow app. This app is very similar to the Swagbucks TV mobile app. You earn Swagbucks for watching videos. Add some videos to your favorites list and start watching them. You can earn 120 Swabucks per day using Entertainow. This brings your total up over $50 per month. You can then move on to either the Moviecl.ps app or the Sport.ly app. These are two more similar apps that pay you Swag bucks for watching videos. Maxing out all four apps every day will earn you over $60 every month!
